QUARTZITE STONE

What is Quartzite?

Quartzite is a natural metamorphic stone formed when pure quartz sandstone is exposed to intense heat and pressure over time. The result is an incredibly hard, durable surface that combines the elegance of marble with the strength of granite. Quartzite often features subtle veining, rich texture, and a naturally crystalline sparkle, making it a favourite among designers who want both beauty and performance.

With its refined look and impressive durability, quartzite is ideal for high-end residential and commercial projects that demand a sophisticated yet low-maintenance material.

In Which Projects Does Quartzite Perform Best?

Quartzite is exceptionally strong, making it ideal for both decorative and high-use surfaces. It's highly resistant to scratching, heat, and etching—making it a go-to choice for busy kitchens and upscale interiors. Common applications include:

  • Kitchen Countertops & Islands: A luxurious alternative to marble with far greater durability and resistance to wear.

  • Bathroom Vanities & Walls: Offers a clean, elegant look that holds up in humid conditions.

  • Flooring: Adds natural elegance to entryways, hallways, and open living spaces with a smooth, polished or textured finish.

  • Accent Walls & Backsplashes: Brings subtle drama and depth to interiors through soft veining and a luminous finish.

  • Commercial Surfaces: Ideal for office spaces, boutique retail, hospitality counters, and other high-traffic areas.

  • Outdoor Applications: Its density and weather resistance make quartzite suitable for patios, exterior walls, and poolside designs.

Note: Although quartzite is incredibly durable, some lighter or more decorative varieties may require sealing to protect against stains. It's a great option for those who love the look of marble but need something tougher.
